able to take the latest desktop Pentium 4
processors with Northwood core and 533MHz
FSB, right up to 3.06GHz, thus enabling the
user to operate the most powerful CPUs on
the market today and run the latest software
applications with ease. The super fast performance
of the A980 is guaranteed to meet the demanding
needs of professionals always 'on the go'
and speed-hungry gaming enthusiasts.
Being extremely versatile, the A980 also takes
older Willamette core CPUs with speeds of
1.4GHz and above. |
The A980 features
the SiS650/962 chipset with integrated 256-bit
3D graphics accelerator for Intel Pentium
4 processors. The graphics accelerator supports
a shared memory size of up to 64MB, and also
supports advanced hardware acceleration for
DVD playback. The AGP 4X interface ensures
crisp and clear graphics quality, while the
chipset’s Ultra-AGPII technology interconnects
the integrated VGA chip and memory controller,
allowing data transfer rates up to 2GB per
second. SiS' special MuTIOL technology provides
533MB/s bandwidth to connect the chipset's
north bridge and south bridge. |
Even the most
memory-hungry applications will not cause
a problem for the A980, which is equipped
with one DDR DIMM socket to support up to
1GB of DDR SDRAM (DDR266 or DDR333). |
No matter whether
you are operating everyday office programs
or the largest applications on the market,
the A980's hard drive won't let you down.
The A980 takes hard disk drives between 15GB
and 40GB (ATA100/66/33). |
The A980 bristles
with an array of powerful high-speed data
transmission ports onboard, including four
USB 2.0 ports and an IEEE 1394 firewire port.
A modem jack and Ethernet jack further enhance
the A980's connectivity features. |
The IEEE 1394
firewire port enables fast data transmission
up to 400Mbps between consumer electronic
audio and video appliances, whilst also providing

and portable devices. Using the A980 to connect

with four USB 2.0 ports to provide high-speed
