Computer Systems (ECS) broke ground for its new
14-story headquarters building in Neihu, Taipei,
on April 4.
"This groundbreaking
is a critical symbol of Elitegroup Computer Systems
continuing expansion," stated ECS Chairman
Johnson Chiang. "This new headquarters will
integrate corporate resources and foster even
better internal communications."
ECS needs the new space: Long
known as ' The King of Motherboards ' and named
one of the world's Top Eight technology firms
in Business Week Magazine's 2002 Info Tech 100
list, ECS has expanded rapidly in recent years.
That expansion has left the company's current
headquarters with insufficient space to house
new teams, among them an additional R&D group
and new multimedia divisions.
Scheduled for completion during
spring 2005, the new headquarters will provide
office space for the entire corporate staff and
ECS subsidiaries, some of which are currently
housed in various buildings in the Taipei area.
Joining Chairman Chiang
at the ceremony were Tsai Chi Ray, CEO of Pou
Chen Group (PCG), and Pou Chen Chairman Tsai Chi
Chen. PCG is one of the most significant partners
of ECS. |
